Rachael Page, associate athletic director-compliance and student services and senior woman administrator at UNK, received the University of Nebraska Board of Regents KUDOS award during last week’s meeting.
KUDOS awards recognize university staff for their professional expertise, service and “superior dedication” to UNK and the University of Nebraska. It is the university’s top staff award.
Director of Athletics Marc Bauer describes Page as a passionate difference maker and nurturing, generous and loving leader who exercises sound judgment in essential matters, dares to assume responsibility and serve others and maintains integrity consistently. These assets serve her and UNK student-athletes well.
In a nutshell, her job responsibilities include oversight of all things “compliance” (rules, regulations, new legislation, waivers, reports and representation and interpretation) and everything “student services” (adjustment to being college athletes, academic eligibility, academic and career planning and programming and initiatives). She also oversees and advises the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, assists with coordination of community service projects and outreach and represents UNK Athletics on campus committees such as DEI (Diversity/Equity/Inclusion), Substance Abuse Task Force, CARE Team and Title IX.
“I always tell the kids, ‘I am here to help you,’” she says. And she does. Without fail.
A native of St. Joseph, Missouri, and former member of the Loper swim team, Page is a three-time graduate of UNK, earning a bachelor’s degree in sports management and sports communication in 2010, master’s degree in physical education in 2012 and master’s degree in counseling and school psychology in 2019.
She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her husband Michael, son Owen and daughter Brighton.
