NEWS ADVISORY – UNK STUDENTS TO HELP HOST A ‘STORM PARTY’ ON SATURDAY, FEB. 24, AT THE RAMADA INN

UNK College of Education students will be completing a service-learning project and
doing some service activities with children of Southern Power District linemen employees.
Southern is hosting a Storm Party on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Kearney Ramada in
appreciation of all of the dedicated linemen and their families in this area, who worked
on recovery from the ice storms.  

Southern requested assistance from students to help plan activities for the 70 children
who will be having a party of their own while the parents are attending. A teacher
education student is recruiting other students to assist with the party and the Kappa
Delta Pi honor society will also be involved.
