UNK again in U.S. News top public regional universities, at 12th

UNK BannerKEARNEY – For the 10th straight year, University of Nebraska at Kearney is listed as a top public university in the Midwest in U.S. News and World Report’s annual “Best Colleges Rankings.”

UNK is tied at 12th in the ranking of regional public universities.

The magazine’s rankings score student retention and graduation rates, class sizes, academic quality of newly enrolled students, student-faculty ratio, alumni giving, and how peers rank each other on a scale of 0-5. Other listings in the magazine examine quality of individual programs, diversity, innovation, affordability, and other services such as teaching and veterans’ aid.

Over the decade UNK has appeared each year in the top 15, with one year at number 10.

The rankings are an independent analysis of data intended to give consumers an idea of quality based on consistent measurement, said Kelly Bartling, UNK assistant vice chancellor for communications and community relations.
