The Nebraska Local Outreach Team of the American Physiological Society’s “Frontiers of Physiology” program will be hosting two identical workshops for middle and high school science teachers on June 2 and June 9 at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. The all-day workshop will focus on “The Physiology of Fitness” and “Neural Networks.”

“The purpose of the workshop is to help middle and high school science teachers learn some hands-on techniques to bring physiology into their classrooms,” said Dr. Janet Steele, associate professor of biology. “Several of the Nebraska science standards will be addressed.”

All workshop participants will receive resource materials from the American Physiological Society. Lunch will be provided at no cost and participants will receive a stipend of $50-$100 depending on the number of workshop participants. The registration deadline is May 23, 2003.
