he University of Nebraska at Kearney Department of Physics will be hosting a Physics Day on Thursday, March 27 at 8 a.m. Invited to attend are 30 high school students and two teachers from Elba and Wolbach, Neb. The day will consist of activity based learning experiences in the field of physics.
Activities will begin with presentations entitled “Discovering the Principles of Motion and Force,” “Experiments with Simple Electrical Circuits,” and “Experiments with Light.” The presentations will be held in Rooms 105, 106, and 109 of Bruner Hall of Science. Next will be a tour of campus followed by lunch in the Nebraskan Student Union. Students will then attend a presentation by the Office of Admissions and the day will conclude with a planetarium show.
Presentations will be made by physics faculty members, secondary science education majors, and former physics students.
