University of Nebraska at Kearney student Kumiko Yoshizawa, sophomore from Mito-city, Japan, is the grand prizewinner of the efollet.com Jackpot 101 promotion. She was presented with a check for $15,000 on March 25 at Follett’s Kearney Bookstore.

Yoshizawa plans to use the money for tuition and to travel somewhere. “I’m not sure where I want to travel, maybe Miami,” she said.

Yoshizawa came to UNK through the National Collegiate Network, which assists Japanese students in studying abroad and completing their bachelor degrees. She said that the UNK community is friendly and really nice.

Jackpot 101, which featured the distribution of 2 million game cards nationwide, was part of a Follett Higher Education Group promotion. Each game card featured a scratch-off area that revealed a code. Students were invited to take their code online through efollett.com to register for the grand prize. The grand prizewinner was selected from a random drawing of all registrants.
