KEARNEY – The Blue and Gold Community Showcase at UNK continues to accept registrations from businesses and organizations for its annual event that welcomes students back to campus.
The Aug. 18 event celebrates the beginning of University of Nebraska at Kearney’s academic year with live entertainment, food and product giveaways provided by campus organizations and community businesses.
The showcase also includes a free picnic hosted by Chancellor Doug Kristensen.
This year’s showcase on Campus Greens is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18.
Blue and Gold Community Showcase is open to the public and welcomes new freshmen, returning students, parents, faculty/staff and alumni back to campus.
The event is one of UNK’s long-standing traditions and regularly draws about 200 vendors. Booth space remains for about 30 or 40 vendors, said organizers.
