The Panhellenic Council at the University of Nebraska at Kearney recently received the “Academic Achievement” award at the Central Fraternal and National Black Greek Leadership Conference.
The conference was held in St. Louis, Mo., earlier this month. This is the seventh year that the council has attended the conference but the first time that they applied for awards.
The categories in which the UNK Panhellenic Council had to demonstrate Academic Programming achievement included: all Sorority GPA vs. All-Women’s GPA, relevancy to the academic mission of the university, compilation and distribution of scholarship data, and methods of assisting chapters whose GPA falls below the all-women’s average.
Members of the UNK Interfraternity Council and the Multicultural Greek Council also attended the conference.
In all, nine members attended the conference. The nine are listed below by council, in alphabetical order by hometown:
Interfraternity Council:
Elkhorn– Ryan Morrisey, executive vice president, Sigma Phi Epsilon

Multicultural Greek Council:
