Janita Pavelka, an award-winning youth entrepreneurship educator from Oxford, will lead the classes. Her own children have started 36 different business over the last 12 years.

She will speak from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 6 in the West Center Building room 221E.
Rachel Pavelka will share more than 80 scholarship opportunities, review resume writing, and show how to document work experience, entrepreneurship activity and community service. She will also cover interviewing pointers, as many large scholarships require Skype or in-person interviews.
Biz Kidz Camp is structured around UNL’s 4-H EntrepreneurShip Investigation Camp Guide, an interactive project aimed at youth who are interested in making money and learning about business. It includes case studies, activities and technology to help develop entrepreneurial skills, including discussion about customer service, branding, target marketing, sales, pricing and tracking expenses.
Participants will create a business and have the opportunity to sell their goods and make money at the ESI Expo/Sale from noon to 3 p.m. on Aug. 9 in Downtown Kearney: The Bricks. Last year the 12 campers sold over $600 in two hours.
