Brodie Mitchell, Addison Chapman crowned UNK homecoming king and queen

KEARNEY – Brodie Mitchell and Addison Chapman are the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s 2026 homecoming king and queen.

They were crowned Thursday evening during a ceremony at the Health and Sports Center on campus. UNK’s homecoming royalty are selected by two rounds of student voting.

Mitchell is a senior pre-medical student from Cambridge studying health sciences in the Kearney Health Opportunities Program. He serves as a Chancellor’s Ambassador and Health Science Ambassador and is part of the Order of Omega, Mortar Board, Alpha Epsilon Delta and A.T.L.A.S. honor societies. A member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, he’s been an Interfraternity Council and GAMMA delegate, as well as an intern with the University of Nebraska Foundation. Mitchell will attend the University of Nebraska Medical Center next fall.

Chapman is a senior from Grand Island studying psychology. She’s involved in the Alpha Phi sorority, UNK Honors Program and Order of Omega, Mortar Board and Psi Chi honor societies.

UNK’s other homecoming royalty finalists were Kyla Kenney of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Liz Lyons of Olathe, Kansas, Paige Oltmans of Davenport, Eli Bond of Kearney, Shawn Rathjen of York and Caleb Rother of Weskan, Kansas.

The homecoming court will be recognized 10 a.m. Saturday during the annual parade in downtown Kearney.
