UNK vaccination clinics to offer Pfizer booster shots for students, faculty, staff

Coronavirus Update LogoKEARNEY – Booster shots for individuals who previously received the Pfizer vaccination will be available at a pair of upcoming clinics at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Two Rivers Public Health Department is offering the on-campus vaccination clinics from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 7 and Oct. 28 in the Nebraskan Student Union atrium.

All three vaccine options – Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson – are available. The clinics are for those who have not yet been vaccinated, as well as those looking to receive their third dose of Pfizer.

Participants should register ahead of time at vaccinate.ne.gov. Individuals seeking booster shots should click on the “Additional Dose” button and must bring their vaccination and insurance cards with them.

Each appointment should take about 15 minutes. There is no cost.

Those who have started a sequence of vaccinations elsewhere are asked to bring their immunization record from the previous vaccination.

People under the age of 19 are asked to bring a written consent form from a parent or guardian.

UNK Student Health is also providing vaccinations for students and employees, with all three options available at no cost. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 308-865-8218 or emailing unkhealth@unk.edu.

The consent form for people under the age of 19 is available on the Student Health website.

If an on-campus time doesn’t work, Student Health can help schedule an appointment at another free location in the community.
