Threat of severe weather postpones UNK surplus auction; June 8 new date

KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Annual Surplus Auction scheduled for today (Friday, June 1) has been postponed due to severe weather expected to hit the region during the event.

With thunderstorms forecast in the Kearney area, organizers felt it was necessary to make an early decision and postpone the auction for the safety of all involved.

The surplus auction now will be hosted at 4 p.m. June 8 in the parking lot near the corner of 19th Avenue and 24th Street on the UNK campus.

The sale – which has generated $185,441 in net proceeds for UNK since 2007 – includes dozens of items from the university’s inventory that are now available to the public.

Visit www.isabellauction.com to view a complete list of the auction items and check out photographs. Item inspections will be allowed only on the day of the sale.
