KEARNEY – The Alpha Phi sorority at the University of Nebraska at Kearney raised over ,000 at its ninth annual Red Dress Poker Tournament.

All proceeds go to the Alpha Phi Foundation, which supports women’s cardiac care.

“The event is so important to Alpha Phi,” said Chapter President Chesany Eberle, a junior psychology major from Seward. “It supports cardiac care and the Alpha Phi Foundation, which is important because one in three women is affected by this.”

About 275 people attended the event at the Kearney Ramada Inn Feb. 28.

Last year, the event raised $5,100 for the Alpha Phi Foundation.
