The Reynolds Reading Series will present Nebraska poet Roy Scheele at the Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA) Yanney Gallery on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m.

“Roy Scheele is a highly respected poet who has been published in some of the largest journals,” said Dr. Don Welch, Reynolds Chair in Creative Writing at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. “He is a master at writing in meter and rhyme.

Scheele is an associate professor of English, poet-in-residence and director of creative writing at Doane College in Crete. He has been published in “The Sewanee Review,” “Poetry Northwest,” “Poetry,” “Prairie Schooner” and “Commonweal.”

He is an author of several collections of poetry including “The Sea-Ocean,” “Grams and Epigrams,” “Accompanied and Noticing,” “The Voice We Call Human,” “To See How it Tallies” and “From the Ground Up: Thirty Sonnets.” His most recent publication is titled “A Far Allegiance.”

MONA is located at 2401 Central Ave. in Kearney. The event is free and open to the public.
