Advanced Driving Techniques courses will be offered December 1 by the
Nebraska Safety Center at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. The courses, which will meet from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., are offered to the
general public for license reinstatement, point reduction, court referral
and for those who drive a State of Nebraska vehicle and must complete a
driver improvement course.
Among the skills emphasized are controlled braking, skid control and
off-road recovery techniques. Both classroom and driving instruction are
included in the course.
The class will meet at the Nebraska Safety Center Driving Range on west
Railroad Street. Pre-registration is required and can be done by
contacting the Nebraska Safety Center at (308) 865-8256.
Enrollment is limited to 14 persons. Cost of the course is $95.00, which
must be paid in advance to secure a spot in the course. If, by the day of
the class, the $95.00 has not been paid, the spot may be forfeited. In
addition, there is a no-show fee of $50.00 for those who fail to call at
least 24-hours in advance to cancel registration.
