Applications for the University of Nebraska at Kearney Student Research Day (SRD) are being accepted until Friday, March 28. Student Research Day is scheduled for Monday, April 28, in the Nebraskan Student Union. SRD is an opportunity to showcase the scholarly and creative activities of undergraduate and graduate students, and to provide recognition to the many UNK faculty mentors who provide such opportunities.
The SRD Application Form is now available on the UNK website and may be submitted anytime before March 8.
“Students are instructed to do two things in order to participate in SRD. First, they are asked to complete and print the application, obtain the signature of their research mentor, and submit it to the Graduate Office. All projects approved by a faculty member are accepted for SRD and there is no further review process,” said Dr. Ken Nikels, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate Studies and Research. “Secondly, student participants are asked to email to us their abstract, the project title, the name or names of all authors and their faculty mentor’s name. This information is needed electronically to facilitate the preparation of the SRD Program and should be emailed to joyxl@unk.edu.”
Student awards and the Faculty Research Mentor Awards will be presented at the SRD Reception, scheduled in the Union at 3:30 p.m. on April 28.
