UNK-– “Kaleidoscope,” the Museum of Nebraska Art Gift Shop Holiday Open House, will be Nov. 11-12. Several of the artists who regularly sell their items in the gift shop will be on hand to discuss and show their work.
On Sat., Nov. 11, the show will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sun., Nov. 12, from 1 to 5 p.m. at MONA. Artifacts, small carvings, cards and stationary, books, paintings, portraiture, pottery, silk scarves and jewelry will be among the many items available.
On Sunday at 1 p.m. there will be a book-signing for The Prairie Mosaic. The Prairie Mosaic is a 244-page book containing 30 articles, 29 poems, and numerous illustrations of the prairie written by UNK faculty. At 2 p.m. Gary Davis and the Brass Quintet will play.
Refreshments will be served during the Holiday Open House. Best of all, Santa arrives at 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
