A variety of instruments– including, flutes, clarinets, tubas and trumpets– will be featured during the University of Nebraska at Kearney Wind Ensemble concert on Thursday, Feb. 24.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall of the UNK Fine Arts Building.
Under the direction of Dr. Duane Bierman, UNK director of bands, the Wind Ensemble will play “Suite of Old American Dances,” “Tosca Fantasy,” “Liberty Bell” and more.
Dr. Gary Davis, retired UNK director of bands, will be the guest conductor, and Dr. David Nabb, UNK professor of music, will perform with the group on the alto saxophone.
The Wind Ensemble, an audition-only group of 35-40 players, is described as playing “the best wind literature available at the university level.”
