The UNK and Kearney communities came together Sunday to celebrate diversity during the 47th annual Scott D. Morris International Food and Cultural Festival.
Hosted by UNK’s International Student Association, the event showcased cultures from around the world through student performances and other activities. It also featured a delicious meal with food from India, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam and Nepal.
One of the most popular events on campus, the International Food and Cultural Festival typically brings more than 1,000 people to the Health and Sports Center. About 50 UNK students are involved in the planning and execution, whether they’re cooking, performing or volunteering at the event.
UNK has more than 3,700 international alumni from 65 countries, with nearly 300 international students currently attending the university.
The International Food and Cultural Festival is sponsored by Morris Printing Group of Kearney, UNK LoperNites and UNK Global.
