KEARNEY – Bill Albin has been selected as the 2024 UNK College of Business and Technology Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient.
He will be honored at the 44th annual Distinguished Alumni Awards luncheon, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Oct. 11 in the Gala Room at the Regional Engagement Center, 2204 University Drive. Tickets are $25 per person ($30 starting Sept. 30) and $15 for children ages 12 and younger. They can be purchased until Oct. 2 at unkalumni.org/homecoming or by calling the UNK Alumni Association at 308-698-5271.
“In many ways, Bill Albin’s story is like that of so many humble kids who grew up in rural Nebraska, pursued a degree from UNK and then went on to a successful business career,” said Tim Jares, dean of the College of Business and Technology. “Bill is exceptional, however, in what he has accomplished in his 33-year career with Deloitte & Touche LLP. He has worked with some of the largest, most recognized companies in the world, yet he finds time to mentor our students each time he is back to campus for CBT Dean’s Leadership Council meetings.”
Albin is an Elmhurst, Illinois, resident and partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP. He started his career with Deloitte & Touche in Lincoln before moving to the company’s Chicago location in 2006. He works with clients in the financial services industries and is one of Deloitte & Touche’s professional practice directors.
Albin is a member of the UNK College of Business and Technology Dean’s Leadership Council and trustee for the University of Nebraska Foundation. He serves as treasurer for Gilda’s Club in Chicago. He also graduated from Leadership Lincoln and was a Lincoln Business Journal 40 Under 40 award recipient and treasurer for Junior Achievement.
Albin earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with an accounting and finance emphasis from UNK in 1990. He is a Guide Rock native and Guide Rock High School graduate.
