PE 188: The World is Fat, a Thompson Scholars Learning Community class at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, hosted a “Chopped – Lopers Edition” competition Tuesday and Thursday.
The event, hosted in the Physical Activity and Wellness Lab’s demonstration kitchen, challenged students to put a healthy spin on a tailgate dish and fit a Loper game day theme.
Each team had a $20 budget, with their entries judged on taste, appearance, the Loper game day theme and healthiness.
Tuesday’s winning team included: Micaela Lopez of Lexington, Katheryn Pacheco of Lexington and Elizabeth Trausch of Roseland.
Thursday’s winning team included: Trevor Edwards of Ogallala, Caleb Hendrickson of Shickley and Trevor Linden of Giltner.
