University Theatre at Kearney opens ‘Hecuba’ Wednesday

_R8A7489KEARNEY – The University Theatre at Kearney presents “Hecuba” Wednesday through Sunday at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

The tragedy by Euripides takes place after the Trojan War, and tells the story Hecuba’s grief over her daughter’s death and the revenge she takes for the murder of her youngest son.

When: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday (April 6-9), and 2 p.m. Sunday (April 10)

Where: Miriam Drake Theatre

Synopsis: Hecuba is the wife of King Priam and formerly the queen of the fallen city of Troy. Hecuba grieves over the loss of her daughter, Polyxena, and takes revenge for the murder of her youngest son, Polydorus. This production is for mature audiences.

Cost: Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for non-UNK students, seniors and UNK faculty/staff; $7 per person for groups of 10 or more, and free for UNK students with a valid ID. For tickets, contact the UNK Box Office at 308.865.8417 or boxoffice@unk.edu.
