KEARNEY – A research paper co-written by University of Nebraska at Kearney faculty member Dr. Susan Jensen won a 2013 Citation of Excellence Award from Emerald Group Publishing.

Jensen’s article was among 50 selected from 15,000 published in distinguished business journals.

Titled “Psychological Capital: A Positive Resource for Combating Employee Stress and Turnover,” the paper appeared in a 2009 edition of “Human Resource Management.”

Jensen is associate dean of UNK’s College of Business and Technology and a professor of management. She wrote the paper with University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty Fred Luthans and James Avey of Central Washington University.

The Citation of Excellence is one of the highest accolades an author can achieve, according to Emerald, which manages more than 290 journals and 2,000 books.

An editorial judging panel selected winners by using a two-tier system based on citations and research impact. The 2013 winners were selected from papers published in 2009, as articles judged require at least three years to accumulate citation data.

Jensen will be recognized Aug. 11 at the Emerald Networking and Awards Presentation Evening during the Academy of Management 2013 event in Orlando.
