The University of Nebraska at Kearney Flute Choir and the Highfalutin’ Flute Ensemble will perform at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Frank House.

The groups will perform works by Händel, Vaughn Williams, Rimsky-Korsakov, Gaubert and Paganini. For one selection, the two groups will join together and perform under the direction of Dr. Seth Fletcher, UNK lecturer in music.

Highfalutin’, an ensemble comprised of area community members, was formed several years ago by Franziska Nabb, UNK flute lecturer. Members of Highfalutin’ include: Gibbon – Katherine Shinn, Grand Island – Jami Harvey, Minden – Dara Jochum, and Lisa Anderson, Nabb, Natalie Radcliffe and Greg Tesdall, all of Kearney.

The UNK Flute Choir, which Nabb directs, includes the following students: Bennington – Victoria Klaus; Kearney – Dan Gibbs, Ashley Jeffs, Jacinda Uden and Tyler Walker; McCook – Julia Gates; and North Platte – Barbara Lloyd.

The performance is free and open to the public; however, donations to the Frank House are accepted. The historic mansion is located on the UNK West Campus.

“Donations helped refurbish the master bed chamber area and will be put to good use as we begin the other planned improvement projects in the Frank House,” said KrisAnn Sullivan, director of the Frank House. “Saturday at the Frank House educational program volunteers help make the public aware of the needs of the house and the public responds. Donations are always appreciated in support of the Frank House.”
