Senior Tuba Recital For a UNK Senior

UNK- Wesley Pendergrass of Mountain Home, Ark., will perform a senior tuba recital on Thursday, Dec. 11, in the University of Nebraska at Kearney Fine Arts Recital Hall. 
  
The performance, which is at 7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public. Pendergrass studies tuba with Dr. Mike Forbes, UNK low brass instructor. 
  
Musical selections on the program are Thom Stevens’ “Variations in an Olden Style,” “Romanian Dance No. 2” by Ionel Dumitru, Ralph V. Williams’ “Concerto for Tuba,” Reciprocity” by James Meador, “Fantasy for Tuba” by Malcolm Arnold and “Adagio from ‘Limpid Stream’” by Dimitri Shostakovich. 
  
The son of Neal and Donna Pendergrass of Mountain Home, Ark., he is a music performance major. He has been a member of the UNK “Pride of the Plains” marching band and the Jazz Rock Ensemble. He represented Conrad Hall as a 2006 UNK Homecoming King candidate.
