The tour schedule/locations for the West Field Trip:

Day 1 (all times CDT)
8:00 am – – Depart
9 a.m. — Meet at Central office in Holdrege for pre-tour briefing
10 a.m. — Depart office; travel through irrigated area with stops at sites of interest
11 a.m. — Arrive Jeffrey Island Habitat Area
11:45 a.m. — Depart for J-2 River Return and Johnson Lake inlet
12:30 p.m. — Lunch at Kirk’s Restaurant, Lexington
1:30 p.m. — Mac’s Creek Vineyard and Winery
3:00 p.m. –Gothenburg Control Center
4:00 p.m. — Central Diversion Dam
4:15 p.m. — Follow Supply Canal toward Jeffrey Lake, past Sioux Lookout, canal structures, Ft. McPherson site, and Ft. McPherson National Cemetery
5:00 p.m. — Jeffrey Hydroplant for brief tour of powerhouse
5:30 p.m. — Arrive Jeffrey Lodge for free time and (possibly) a boat ride on Jeffrey Lake
6:30 p.m. — Dinner at Lindy’s Restaurant in Brady

Day 2
7:30 a.m. — Depart for Kingsley Dam with stop at North Platte for breakfast
9:30 a.m. — Arrive Lake McConaughy Visitor Center for presentation by Central personnel; tour outlet structures, hydroplant, tern/plover nesting areas at Martin Bay, eagle-viewing facility
11:30 a.m. — Lunch at Hilltop Inn
12:30 p.m. — Depart Kingsley
2 p.m. — Arrive at location below Midway Lake to begin canoe trip; Supply Canal trip will go from East Midway (MP 51.3 check gate) to Gallagher Canyon Lake and State Recreation Area
5 p.m. (approx.) — Canoe trip ends with cookout at Gallagher Canyon
~6:30  or 7 pm — Arrive back in Kearney
