BRASS QUINTET TO PRESENT RECITAL ON MONDAY, APRIL 21, AT 7:30 P.M. IN UNK FINE ARTS RECITAL HALL

The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Brass Quintet will perform a recital at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21, in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.
The recital, which is free and open to the public, will feature Don Gillis’ arrangement of “Just a Closer Walk,” Bach’s “Fugue in G Minor” and Luther Henderson’s arrangement of “The Saint’s Hallelujah.”
According Dr. Gary Davis, quintet director, the brass quintet plays at least three performances each year, including the UNMC College of Nursing commencement and recitals. The ensemble also performs at events within the community, such as company holiday parties and memorial services.
Quintet members are also part of other UNK music ensembles, such as the “Pride of the Plains” marching band, the Symphonic Band, the Wind Ensemble and the Kearney Symphony Orchestra.
