Students from the University of Nebraska at Kearney Marketing research class have been recognized by the Kay Payne Undergraduate Case competition.           Participating teams are paired with local businesses and work with the businesses on specific marketing projects. Once completed, each team’s work is judged by members of the Kearney community.
“This competition has students work with businesses to improve entrepreneurship,” said Marsha Yeagley, a senior lecturer in the UNK Department of Marketing and Management Information Systems. “The College of Business and Technology also places a strong emphasis on experiential learning.”
The participating businesses can be either profit or nonprofit groups. According to Yeagley, many of the clients have a developed relationship with UNK and request the assistance of the students.
