University of Nebraska at Kearney and Region 4 Elementary Principals are sponsoring a youth leadership conference for area students on Friday, November 15 from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Nebraskan Student Union. The conference is titled, “Building on Strengths” and will host grades 4-6 from school districts in the Kearney, Grand Island and Hastings area.
Approximately 200 youth and their sponsors are expected to attend. The day will begin with keynote speaker, Chris Eberhardt, speaking on “Choosing to Build.” Students will have the opportunity to partake in mini workshops including: a planetarium show, multimedia presentation on making the UNK student newspaper, glassblowing, smartboard technology, ceramics, team building, auditory/visual localization and an economics education presentation.
