UNK GRADUATE AWARDED TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY FROM THE AMERICAN ADVERTISING AD CHALLENGE

Staci Sohl, of Benedict, a UNK December graduate and advertising major, was one of four students nationwide to be awarded an all-expenses paid trip to New York from the American Advertising Federation Ad Challenge. Sohl was selected as a winner for her entertaining and polished essay regarding her cat, “Clio,” and the significance of advertising in her life.

Sohl and winners from the University of South Carolina, University of Florida, and Northwestern University had the opportunity to interview and tour various advertising agencies including Ogilvy & Mather, BBDO, and Renegade Marketing. Before graduating in Dec., Sohl completed an internship at the L.A.Times. She was also vice president of the UNK Advertising and Public Relations Club. She hopes to use her passion and talent to work as an advertising copywriter and eventually as a creative director.
