UNK-The Safety Center will be offering drivers education courses beginning Feb. 3. These courses conform to the rules and regulations of the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles and exceed the criteria established for insurance discounts. The Saturday afternoon class is approximately eight weeks in length and will be held Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24, March 3, 10, 17, 24. Class time will be from 1 to 5 p.m. On street driving will be scheduled at an arranged time between the students and the instructors.
The fee for the course is $225.00. To enroll in the course contact the Nebraska Safety Center by Jan. 26 at (308) 865-8173. Class size is limited. Each student must have a school or learner’s permit. Students are provided up to 3 hours of on-street driving time. Students requiring more than 3 hours of driving will be charged $40 per hour.
Classroom, range, simulation, and on-street will meet at the Defensive Driving Range in West Railroad Street (865-8173).
