St.-Jude-WEB-1Sophia Wymer of York, middle, along with her parents, Jon and Tiffani, are recognized at halftime of the University of Nebraska at Kearney men’s basketball game Thursday night. Sophia, 5, was diagnosed with brain cancer at just 8 months old and currently is cancer free thanks to help from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Wymers were guests of the UNK St. Jude Up ‘til Dawn student organization, which is raising money and bringing awareness to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. UNK currently is recruiting student teams for its Feb. 19 Up ‘til Dawn Event. For more information or to donate, contact Laura Matthies at 308.865.8398.
