Nearly 20 high school students participated in the first of four Health Science Explorers Summer Camps today.
Organized by UNK’s Health Sciences Department, the one-day camp allows students to explore a variety of healthcare careers through hands-on activities. Attendees solved a simulated crime in a forensics lab and practiced administering IVs and using ultrasound transducers at UNK’s Bruner Hall of Science. They also visited the University of Nebraska Medical Center-Kearney Rural Health Education Complex to learn more about sonography and physical therapy.
Upcoming half- and full-day camps are scheduled for tomorrow at Lexington Regional Health Center, June 24 at UNK and July 22 at College Park in Grand Island.
