High school juniors faced with the future prospect of attending college will have an opportunity to learn about student life at the University of Nebraska at Kearney throughout the day on Monday, April 9.

Junior Day, which is sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions, will feature campus tours, a majors fair, lunch at Chartwells Cafeteria, financial aid information sessions and a student panel, which allows visiting juniors to ask current students about the university.

Michael Pelster, assistant director of recruitment at UNK, said the day of events holds many advantages for prospective students.

“Junior Day is an eye-opening experience for many high school juniors and their parents,” Pelster said. “They have the opportunity to interact with current UNK students, faculty and staff, as well as other students who are considering UNK.”

“It is a great time for high school juniors and their parents to start getting answers to some of the questions they might have,” he said.
