Jerry Taylor, former senior vice president and chief financial officer of Applied Materials Inc. and graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney, will speak at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, in the Ockinga Seminar Center.
His presentation is part of the Baldwin Free Enterprise Series and is free and open to the public.
The company he served as CFO, Applied Materials, is based in Santa Clara, Calif., and is the world’s leading supplier of semiconductor fabrication solutions. Last year the company has sales of $120 million.
He joined Applied Materials in 1984 as vice president and chief financial officer and in 1993 was promoted to senior vice president. From 1998, he served as senior adviser to the CEO and staff and retired from the company in 2000. Before joining Applied Materials, Taylor served in senior executive positions at Schlumberger, Fairchild Camera and Instrument, and Honeywell.
Currently, he serves on the board of directors of Lithia Motors and Electro Scientific Industries. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Ore.
