UNK camp introduces area high schoolers to health science careers

Area high schoolers were on campus Tuesday for a Health Science Explorers Camp hosted by UNK Health Sciences.

Students participated in hands-on activities at the Physical Activity and Wellness Lab inside Cushing Coliseum, engaged in a medical laboratory science case study at the Health Science Education Complex and learned about various health care careers during a panel discussion featuring area professionals. They also received information about the Kearney Health Opportunities Program and Health Science Explorers Learning Community and had the chance to tour campus.

UNK Health Sciences is hosting two more Health Science Explorers Camps this semester. Seventh and eighth graders can attend the camp on March 7 and high schoolers are invited to the camp on April 11. Both events are free. More information is available here.
