KEARNEY – The College of Arts and Sciences Outreach Committee is hosting a memorial tree planting ceremony 3 p.m. Wednesday (April 28) in the green space between Copeland Hall and the Memorial Student Affairs Building.

The event will honor the lives of students who passed away while enrolled at UNK.

Chancellor Doug Kristensen will dedicate the memorial tree and plaque, and the names of deceased students will be read aloud.

Dean of Student Affairs Gilbert Hinga, College of Arts and Sciences Dean Ryan Teten and political science professor Claude Louishomme will also speak during the ceremony, which includes a memorial poem and performances by the UNK Choraleers and music faculty.
