PHOTOS: Lopers spread Valentine’s Day love

UNK students and employees are spreading the love this Valentine’s Day.

Members of the Loper 2 Loper Mentoring Program got together Friday afternoon to create cards for residents of two local assisted living facilities. The valentines will be delivered Saturday to Kinship Pointe and Brookestone Gardens in Kearney.

Loper 2 Loper pairs UNK students with a faculty or staff mentor who helps guide them through their first year on campus. The program provides the support and resources first-year students need to be successful both academically and personally while fostering a sense of belonging during their transition to UNK.

Part of the Office of Student and Family Transitions, the mentoring program currently matches about 30 students with faculty or staff members.
