UPDATE: Power has been restored at both buildings.

The University of Nebraska at Kearney is working with Nebraska Public Power District to resolve an electrical issue impacting the Village Flats residence hall and LaVonne Kopecky Plambeck Early Childhood Education Center.

Because of this issue, the Early Childhood Education Center will be closed for the remainder of the day. Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, Dec. 16.

UNK is providing temporary housing in other residence halls for Village Flats residents who are interested, and meal vouchers to The Market @ 27th dining hall will be available to residents impacted by the power outage.

Power to both buildings is expected to be restored later today. Village Flats residents will receive updates via email.
