Outdoor activities, esports tournament part of Loper Social Distancing Days

The First Year Program, Campus Recreation and Loper Programming and Activities Council (LPAC) are teaming up to provide three days of free outdoor and online activities for UNK students.

Loper Social Distancing Days, scheduled for Friday (Aug. 28) through Sunday (Aug. 30), brings some fun to the first week of fall classes.

Face masks and social distancing are required during all in-person activities.

Friday, Aug. 28

7 p.m. – Will Hutchinson concert (Outside the Frank Museum)

8:30 p.m. – Glow yoga (West Center green space)

Saturday, Aug. 29

10 a.m. – Morning yoga (Green space between Men’s and Antelope halls)

Noon-3 p.m. – Paddleboarding (Yanney Park, 2020 W. 11th St.)

2-4 p.m. – Frisbee golf (Nebraskan Student Union courtyard) – Frisbees will be provided at check-in or participants can bring their own. Golf discs aren’t allowed. First, second and third places in the men’s and women’s divisions will receive T-shirts. Each player who turns in their scorecard will also be entered in a drawing for prizes such as Apple AirPods, UNK gear and an Antelope Bookstore gift card.

7 p.m. – Sidewalk chalk competition (Residence halls) – Submit photos on your residence hall’s Facebook group page with the hashtag #BeBoldBeGold by 9 p.m. that evening to win prizes.

Sunday, Aug. 30
