KEARNEY – A University of Nebraska at Kearney faculty-staff organization is hosting a food drive to help feed students in need on campus.
Leadership UNK is collecting items through Nov. 19 and has drop-off locations and boxes located across campus.
Donated items will be given to UNK’s Big Blue Cupboard. A UNK organization that combats student hunger, Big Blue Cupboard provides food and hygiene items to students on campus who are in need. The pantry also serves community members in need.
Items needed for the food drive include:
Breakfast – Cereal, Pop Tarts, pancake mix, granola and protein bars
Microwavable – Macaroni and cheese, Ramen noodles, soup
Frozen food – Hot Pockets, individual pizzas, pizza rolls, burritos, popsicles
Non-perishables – Pasta, rice, peanut butter, trail mix, beans
Nonfood – Feminine products, bath and hand soap, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner
Other – Canned meats, fruit
Frozen items should be taken directly to the Office of Multicultural Affairs inside the Nebraskan Student Union.
