UNK workshop trains managers on business leadership, turnover, customer service, ethics, millennials

KEARNEY – An upcoming workshop at the University of Nebraska at Kearney includes eight different sessions focused on developing business leadership skills.

The Management Development Workshop is geared toward business managers and includes training from UNK faculty experts in areas such as reducing turnover, conflict management, customer service, working with millennials, ethical leadership and making decisions.

The training is from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Jan. 18 at UNK’s Nebraskan Student Union in rooms 310 and 312. It is hosted by UNK’s executive education program.

Registration is 5 for UNK employees and 0 for others and can be done at www.unk.edu/bizleaders

Each session is developed to educate attendees in a way that allows for both learning and practical application back in their organization.

12:30 to 2:15 p.m. – “Job Crafting: Creating Meaningful Work,” Daniel Chaffin, assistant professor of management, UNK College of Business and Technology
2:30 to 4:15 p.m. – “Ethical Leadership and Decision-Making,” Noel Palmer, associate professor of management, UNK College of Business and Technology
