KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney is hosting numerous Career Days events to help students interact with companies and examine career opportunities in a variety of fields.
The series of career fairs, networking receptions and workshops is from Oct. 2-24.
The Fall Career and Graduate School Fair, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at UNK’s Health and Sports Center, is among Career Days highlights. More than 100 companies and organizations are represented at the event, which is free and open to the public.
Prior to the career fair, UNK will offer its Career Fair Edge event from 3 to 4 p.m. Oct. 2. This program gives students the chance to interact with employers and enhance their professional development through participating in practice job interviews, having their resumes critiqued, and getting advice about professional attire and introductions.
UNK Criminal Justice, Supply Chain Management, Health Sciences and Industrial Distribution departments are hosting events specific to students and others interested in their programs.
The College of Business & Technology also is hosting a pair of career fair training sessions on Oct. 4-5.

Monday, Oct. 2
8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Criminal Justice Conference/Career Fair (Student Union, Ponderosa)

The Criminal Justice Conference is hosted in conjunction with the department’s annual Career Fair. The career fair provides students with the opportunity to meet with representatives from dozens of justice agencies at the federal, state and local level, in Nebraska and across the Midwest.
3 to 4 p.m. – Career Fair Edge (Student Union 310/312)
This program gives students the chance to interact with employers and enhance their professional development through participating in practice job interviews, having their resumes critiqued, and getting advice about professional attire and introductions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign up for the Career Fair Edge benefits package, which includes business cards and a pre-printed nametag on a lanyard for the career fair.

4 to 4:45 p.m. – College of Business & Technology Career Fair Training Session (West Center 120E)

12:30 to 1:15p.m. – College of Business & Technology Career Fair Training Session (West Center 120E)

Tuesday, Oct. 10
7 to 8:30 p.m. – Supply Chain Management Reception (Student Union)
Meeting between company representatives and students in the Supply Chain Management program. The purpose of the event is to allow both parties to develop working relationships that will eventually lead to future internship and job opportunities.
Wednesday, Oct. 11
12:30 to 3:30 p.m. – Fall Career & Graduate School Fair (Health & Sports Center)

The Career & Graduate School Fair provides students with an opportunity to interact with representatives from local and regional employers and graduate schools. It’s a great event for students who would like to build their network, and search for internships or full-time jobs.

Health care is one of the largest growing career fields today, and UNK offers more than 20 different options for pre-professional training for a career in health care. The UNK Health Careers Fair provides students the opportunity to gather information and learn more about health care professions.
4 to 5:30 p.m. – Nebraska Families Collaborative Social (Health Science Education Complex 100)
Nebraska Families Collaborative is coming to UNK to educate students about careers with their organization. Come and learn about how you can have a positive impact on families.
Tuesday, Oct. 24
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Industrial Distribution Career Event (Student Union)

The focus of the first 60 minutes will be seniors seeking full-time positions and those seeking Summer 2018 internships. Underclassmen will arrive at 10:30 a.m.
