KEARNEY – University of Nebraska at Kearney professor Mallory Wetherell and adjunct lecturer Matt Ziemke have been selected as two of 16 emerging artists to watch in 2015 by Ceramics Monthly Magazine.
Wetherell is an assistant professor in art and art history in the area of ceramics. Ziemke is a lecturer in ceramics and sculpture.
They are featured in the May edition of Ceramics Monthly. They were selected from more than 300 submissions.
Wetherell’s interest in anatomy and 18th-century medical illustrations inspires her work. She creates three-dimensional forms of organs, cellular tissue and body systems with drawings on the surface that illustrate the interior of the forms. She also includes botanical elements.
Ziemke creates construction landscapes using two- and three-dimensional imagery.
