UNK Forensics Team’s Jeremy Plumb qualifies for nationals

KEARNEY – University of Nebraska at Kearney Forensics Team member Jeremy Plumb qualified for the National Individual Events Tournament, which will take place at Lewis & Clark College in April 2015.

The UNK Forensics Team competed at the BroncoLope Swing competition Nov. 15-16. The competition took place at Hastings College Saturday and at UNK Sunday.

During Saturday’s competition, senior Bryson DeKay of Niobrara placed fourth in dramatic interpretation. Plumb, a junior from Omaha, placed second in impromptu speaking and sophomore Sara Cooksley of Anselmo placed fifth in prose interpretation.

Plumb’s second-place finish qualified him for the national competition.

During Sunday’s competition, Cooksley placed second in extemporaneous speaking.

The team will compete next at the Outer Limits Swing, which is hosted on the UNK campus Dec. 6-7.

The forensics team competes September through April. The national tournament is April 4-6 at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
