KEARNEY – Georg-Wilhelm Mainka, professor emeritus at University of Rostock in Germany, will give a presentation on building physics and energy reduction at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Mainka’s talk “Plus Energy” is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 in UNK’s Otto Olsen room 135. He will showcase how buildings can produce energy and potentially be sold to a utility rather than consume energy.

Energy reduction systems such as vacuum insulated panels, climate buffers, solar protection, heat recovery and photovoltaics will also be addressed.

The presentation is sponsored by the UNK Construction Management Program and College of Business and Technology.

For more information, contact Industrial Technology Professor Ken Larson at 308-865-8292.
