KEARNEY – An art exhibit featuring work by five students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will be on display at Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church in Holdrege from Nov. 23 to Dec. 7.

The exhibition includes work by students in the advanced drawing courses taught by Mari Johan and John Fronczak. Students featured in the show include: Eric Behrendt, Holdrege; Daniel Brown, Shelton; Molly McPhillips, Humphrey; Megan Schroll, Ravenna; and Kara Trampe, Amherst.

“We’re excited to welcome these local artists into our building and let them show their work,” said Ted Carnahan, the church’s pastor. “We want to be a great neighbor to downtown Holdrege, and we’re hoping that the community enjoys this exhibition.”

The exhibit is offered in conjunction with Small Business Saturday, a day organized by the U.S. Small Business Administration to recognize and support small businesses in communities across the country. Some of the items in exhibit will be available for purchase.

Open houses will occur from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the three Saturdays the exhibit is on display: Nov. 23, Nov. 30 and Dec. 7. A reception also will be held at Spirit of Grace to recognize the students at 7 p.m. on Dec. 7.
