Sheldon promoted to assistant vice chancellor business and finance

KEARNEY – Jane Sheldon has been promoted to assistant vice chancellor for business and finance at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where she plans and facilitates division operations and manages special projects.

She is responsible for coordination and preparation of strategic reports for new programs and activities for the division and campus.

Sheldon serves on the University’s Financial System Task Force, is a member of the Emergency Operation Team and monitors the implementation of the UNK strategic plan for the division.

Her new role also includes oversight of fund activity, monitoring software systems within the division and serving as a liaison to the University of Nebraska Foundation, where she is involved with endowed funds.

Sheldon previously worked as director of business services at UNK, where she was responsible for contract management, purchasing, telecommunications and the university mailroom.

Sheldon earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UNK. Since joining the Division of Business and Finance, she has participated in University of Nebraska Business Process Improvement teams, financial and purchasing software implementations and a University of Nebraska Task Force on Administrative Efficiencies.
