Lincoln native to perform UNK senior violin recital April 13

Kearney, Neb., April 5, 2013 – Jennifer Zumwalt of Lincoln will perform her senior violin recital on April 13. The recital, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Fine Arts Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Zumwalt is a music education major with violin as her primary instrument. She will perform with pianist Nancy Curry, the music and performing arts department staff accompanist, and singer Amaryah Fritz of Hildreth, also a music education major.

The program consists of works from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and the 20th-century eras such as “Bereite, dir, Jesu, noch itzo die Bahn” by J.S. Bach, “Adoration” by Felix Borowski, and “Tarantella” by Guido Papini.

Daughter of Brad and Edith Zumwalt and graduate of Lincoln East High School, Zumwalt is head teacher of the UNK String Project, member of Delta Omicron International Honorary Music Fraternity and member of Nebraska Music Educators Association. She is also violinist for the Thornton String Quartet, current first violin of the Kearney Symphony Orchestra and UNK Chamber Orchestra, and has been named to the dean’s list.
