“Merry Tuba Christmas,” a low brass concert featuring 60-70 euphonium and tuba players of all ages from throughout the region, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at noon at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Fine Arts Recital Hall. The performance will feature Christmas carols performed on baritones, euphoniums and tubas.

Participation is open to anyone who plays baritone, tuba or euphonium. There is a registration fee of $5 for performers. Participants will register beginning at 9 a.m., warm up at 9:30 a.m., and rehearsal will then take place at 10 a.m.

Directing the concert will be Dr. Seth Fletcher, UNK senior lecturer in music and low brass instructor.

The performance will include a sing-along with lyrics provided. Carol books, hats, scarves and CDs will be available for purchase at the event.
